Chianti Fontella DOCG 75cl
Ruby red, with a typical Chianti nose, smooth, medium-bodied palate, with an attractive lingering finish.
The grapes are de-stemmed and soft crushed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at controlled temperatures of 25C, and lasts around 8-10 days. Frequent remontage occurs throughout fermentation in order to extract color and achieve soft tannins. Malolactic fermentation is carried out. The juice is left in contact with the skins for 15 days. The wine is aged for three months in large Slavonian oak barrels
Casa Girelli selects the grapes from specific vineyards in the Chianti region. Fontella Chianti is a traditional blend of Sangiovese, with some Cannaiolo blended in. Classic Chianti aromas of cherry, leather and spice. The palate reveals more savoury notes, refreshing acidity and bright fruit.
